Solar Panels

In order to give our community an opportunity to take advantage of the 2019 SC Renewable Energy Programs Bill Section 58-41-40, which states:

“(A)  It is the intent of the General Assembly to expand the opportunity to support solar energy and support access to solar energy options for all South Carolinians, including those who lack the income to afford the upfront investment in solar panels or those who do not own their homes or have suitable rooftops. The General Assembly encourages all electric service providers in this State to consider offering neighborhood community solar programs.”

Per this bill, the Baneberry HOA Board will now begin to accept and review Solar applications for approval for BaneBerry residents. The Board is working with MJS, Inc. to revise the HOA rules, but we do not want to keep residents from working towards getting Solar installed. If you are interested in pursuing solar panel installation, please submit a detailed message to either the HOA email located on this page or the Contact Us form to include: name, address and a contact number. This will allow for an HOA board member to speak with you about what is needed from the Solar Company to ensure your Solar installation is approved by the HOA Board.

Thanks,

President Jacob Barth

From the Board

A few things we’ve noticed and want to remind our neighbors about:

  • Please bag your grass clippings for pickup. Blowing them into the street or leaving yard waste uncontained at the curb can cause it to blow into other neighbor’s yards, or into the drainage system, creating issues for everyone. Learn more about dealing with yard waste at the Capital Waste Services website. If you don’t use Capital Waste, please remove your yard waste responsibly and timely.
  • Parking on the grass in yards is not allowed. Residents can request to have their driveways expanded, if needed.
  • Boats are not allowed to be parked or stored permanently in yards.
  • Trash cans should be removed from the street by 9:00 a.m. the following day after trash/recycling pickup.
  • If you are considering installing a fence, it must be the wooden, six-foot fence with arches as seen throughout the neighborhood. Fence installation requests must be approved by the HOA board following the procedure outlined here

Questions? Use the Contact Us form and we’ll be happy to get back to you.

From the President

BaneBerry Residents:

I hope everyone is doing well during these trying times of COVID that have gripped our country and communities with uncertainty and fear as to when our lives will get back to some type of normalcy.  I personally have seen neighbors coming together and leaning on one another which fills me with pride to live in one of the greatest neighborhoods in South Carolina.  I would like to also take this time to send out my appreciation to the community in regards to maintaining our personal areas and keeping the neighborhood looking great.

As we took control of the neighborhood in April, our goal as a board was to find a cost-saving alternative to our Blue Oasis landscaping contract. We did that in finding Optimum Landscaping, which not only is going to save us thousands of dollars, but in my opinion, the new landscaping company is also better in quality.  I would like to say thank you to Mark, our HOA Vice President for doing such a good job in that matter.  Additionally, Mark came to the rescue again and found a cost-effective manner to fill in the hole at the front of the neighborhood, which most likely will be a short term solution to the problem as people turn into the neighborhood. Hopefully the fill-in of that part of the road will reduce any more erosion and possible damage to a resident’s car as they turn into the neighborhood.

As summer comes to a close, we as a board will come together to discuss our way forward as a community. It is our goal to have the website set up in a manner that will allow the residents to have a direct line of communication to address issues as needed so we can continue to grow as a community.  I hope everyone continues to be safe, and I look forward to seeing you around the neighborhood.

Baneberry News

We’re excited to bring this website to the neighborhood, and want it to serve our needs. We are happy to publish neighborhood news. Plans for a neighborhood-wide yard sale? Let us know on the Contact Us page, and we’ll get it posted.  Is there going to be unusual traffic or a large number of vehicles due to a family event? We’ll be happy to alert folks to that as well.

What we won’t publish–individual home yard sales or items for sale. Other than that, we want to get the good news out to everyone.
