From the President Mark Scofield

Greetings from the HOA Board. We are less than week from the official start of Spring and a reminder that it is each resident’s responsibility to keep their yard mowed, bushes and hedges trimmed, and their sidewalk edged for the entire community to enjoy and be proud of. Please feel free to contact the HOA if you need help mowing your lawn or just need advice on a lawn service.

Over the past 12 months we have seen increased complaints regarding residents parking their cars in the street on a continual basis. I will remind everyone of the following rules that need to be adhered to by everyone living in the community as part of the Baneberry Regulations:

Parking on the street of any passenger vehicle is strictly prohibited when there is available space in the driveway or garage (Use of the garage as a general storage or living area does not eliminate it from an ‘available parking location’). Where all available driveway and garage space are utilized by other vehicles, parking on the street of a passenger vehicle of a lot owner shall not be allowed if it is frequent, habitual, or continuous and parking on the street of a passenger vehicle of a lot owner or of the temporary guest of a lot owner shall only be allowed if it is temporary in nature.”

We have also contacted the Sheriff’s Department about adding patrols to the neighborhood for habitual speeding which has also gotten worse. For further guidelines on community parking, click on the Governing Documents tab and then go to Baneberry Regulations for a full explanation. Please contact the HOA with any questions.

Christmas Greetings

On behalf of myself and all of our HOA board members, I want to wish all of the residents of Baneberry a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. This is our first year of having the front entrance lighted for Christmas, and I want to thank the more than 100 homeowners who decorated for the holidays and who have enhanced the Christmas spirit throughout our subdivision. A truly beautiful neighborhood to drive around in and see the beautifully decorated homes. We continue to grow as a community and we wish everyone a healthy prosperous New Year.

From the President – Mark Scofield

Greetings from the HOA Board. I hope everyone is enjoying our beautiful spring weather. With the start of Spring, a reminder of each resident’s responsibility to keep yards mowed and landscaping trimmed throughout the summer months for our entire neighborhood to enjoy. If anyone needs assistance with mowing their grass, please do not hesitate to contact the HOA.

The SCDOT finished their road work on Longs Pond Road Friday. This will now allow the HOA to have the entire front entrance re-sodded with Bermuda grass and fresh flowers planted for Spring. This work will start in the next couple of weeks. We will also be adding new, more established trees along the back retention pond.

We’re pleased to announce the addition of Ashley Kates as our newest board member, who will serve out Jake Barth’s term. We thank Jake for his time with the HOA and his contribution to the board and community.

Look for announcements on summer events in the neighborhood as we move forward. Hope to see everyone around the neighborhood.

From President Jake Barth

Greetings from the HOA Board. We hope everyone is doing well through these trying times of COVID; if anyone needs assistance, please reach out through the Baneberry HOA webpage and we as a Board will see what we can do to assist our neighbors

I wanted to take this opportunity to update the community on the upcoming annual Baneberry Community Meeting.  If this was a normal time in our lives we would be scheduled to meet in March to vote for two positions coming open on the HOA Board, go over our community financials, and address questions raised by community members.  For the sake of safety, the Baneberry Board, in conjunction with a recommendation from MJS, has determined to delay the meeting until the MAY/JUNE time frame.  The thought process on the delay was that more residents would have an opportunity to receive the COVID vaccine and the weather will be warmer, so if we needed to hold the meeting outdoors to comply with social distancing that option would be available.  So stay tuned for an update of a date soon for our community meeting.

As many of you have already noticed, our community was updated with a streetlight at the front entrance and I wanted to give a shout out to the Baneberry HOA Vice President Mark Scofield for his hard work which allowed this project to be completed.  That light increases the safety of turning into our neighborhood after sunset and undoubtedly increases the safety of the front entrance.  Mark and I have been gathering estimates to permanently repair the front entrance. We are expecting this task to be completed in the coming months, so stay tuned for notice that the main entrance is being closed for a couple of days to let the material settle and to use the Roscoe Road entrance during that time.

Lastly, I wanted to remind our residents about parking on non-paved surfaces in the neighborhood.  There are only a few houses that continually park a car on the grass or dirt patch that has been created from parking repeatedly next to their driveway. This action violates the rules of the neighborhood and overall reduces the aesthetics of our neighborhood by the damage it causes to the grass in the yard. The reasons HOA’s exist is to ensure homes and yards are taken care of, which increase the value of everyone’s property, so please comply with the rules. Violation letters will be sent, followed by fines if rules are continually being broken.
